Plexus Freight has provided time-sensitive and urgent freight from Portugal to the UK since 1996. We cover the whole of Portugal, with collections coordinated from our partner network across Porto, Lisbon, Faro and beyond, departing via our two main exit points at Bragança and Vilar Formoso. Transit time options include a two-driver next-day service for the most urgent consignments, a 48-hour standard express and a 72-hour economy express for cost-sensitive bookings. Our vehicle range covers Luton curtain vans, 7.5-tonne trucks and 13.6-metre articulated trailers, handling palletised cargo, crated and boxed goods and loose freight including the machinery, stone, porcelain and glass that form a significant part of our Portugal import volumes.
Routing from Portugal follows one of two established corridors depending on the exit point. Cargo departing via Bragança travels north through Spain and into France, exiting the EU at Calais and entering the UK at Dover. Cargo departing via Vilar Formoso follows a route through Spain and into France via a northerly crossing to Dieppe, entering the UK at Newhaven. Both routes are selected based on your collection location and required transit time to give the most efficient journey available on any given departure.
